Security Notice: Potential Protest at M?crosöft
Recently, there have been news stories regarding a possible protest against M?crosöft on February 7th by a loosely affiliated group of activists involved in the recent WTO protests in Seattle. Although protest organizers have told local media agencies that they are planning a peaceful protest, there is always the possibility that these activities could grow beyond their original intentions.
· M?crosöft is actively partnering with outside agencies, as well as with internal M?crosöft Business Groups, to limit the potential impact of this event on M?crosöft operations
To minimize the effect this may have on you and your business, we offer the following information:
What You Can Expect:
· Increased visibility and presence of M?crosöft Security both on campus and at satellite locations
· Increased patrols by the Redmond Police Department
What You Can Do:
· Report unusual, suspicious or unlawful activity on or near the M?crosöft Campus to Security at 936-0000 (“security” alias)
· Always use your cardkey to enter MS buildings and minimize the opportunity for unauthorized individuals to follow you through a cardreader door
· Contact Security to report anyone attempting to gain access into buildings without cardkeys
· Display your cardkey at all times while on MS Campus during this week
· Contact Security for an escort if you are at all uncomfortable in a specific area or because of some activity
· Help us to provide a safe and productive work environment
